Episode 8 - A Very Supernatural Christmas
I can’t just sit around, drinking eggnog, pretending everything’s okay, when I know next Christmas you’ll be dead. I just can’t.
It’s almost comedic, if it wasn’t so damned depressing, how simple their one “right” Christmas is. Everything is from the nearby gas station, from the Charlie Brown tree decorated with fishing lures and air fresheners, to the eggnog with almost too much whiskey in it. Their gifts to one another, which surprise and amuse them both that they had the same thought, are every day supplies and porno mags. There’s nothing fancy about it, and most people would recall such a holiday bitterly. But to the Winchesters, who don’t celebrate holidays or have such family traditions, this is “doing it right”. Because it may very well be Dean’s last Christmas. Ever. So with tears just barely being held back in both of their eyes and memories in their minds of the Christmas Sam learned about the Family Business and gave Dean his necklace, they drink and watch the game and refuse to say everything the other already knows.
